Reconciliation Week

This year we will begin the week with our traditional Flag Raising Ceremony held at the Njernda Medical Centre to join as a community to commemorate and celebrate who we are as Indigenous people. We will be joined by the broader community as we together experience a Welcome to Country from respected our respected elder, smoking ceremony and dancers from Yorta Yorta country and may guest speakers. This will be followed by morning tea for all participating. The week will continue with several events throughout the week being held with Echuca Regional Health, Shire of Campaspe and several schools .

Koori Arts and Craft Market

The market has been running Easter Saturday for the past 5 years with great success. This year we will be looking at adding extra stall holders and a few competitions (Junior and Senior art competition/ display as well as a Didgeridoo play off) which will be open for all community participation. We will have a DJ entertaining us all as well as fun and activities for kids of all ages.

Health Promotion Open Day – QUIT and Chronic Illness

Once again we open our doors and welcome the community to join us to further raise awareness on not only the importance of becoming smoke free but also raise awareness on other chronic illnesses such as Diabetes, Liver Disease, HIV and much more that are affecting our community as a whole. The event will be well supported by many guest providers with the focus being on ‘Healthy Lifestyle Choices’. Free BBQ and refreshments as well as a raffle and giveaways.
