Support community wellbeing through culturally safe cancer care


Join Njernda Aboriginal Corporation as a Cancer Care Support Officer, leading cancer awareness, education and support programs for the local Aboriginal community.


Working alongside clinical and health promotion teams, you’ll help improve access to cancer screening and treatment, provide culturally safe support for clients and families, and strengthen partnerships between community and health services.



About the role

  • Coordinate the delivery of Njernda’s Cancer Program in line with community needs and funding requirements
  • Promote and support participation in national cancer screening program
  • Provide culturally safe education, support and advocacy for clients and families
  • Build partnerships with hospitals, cancer specialists and community organisations
  • Support data collection, reporting and continuous quality improvement in cancer care

About you

  • Qualifications or experience in Nursing, Aboriginal Health, or Health Promotion
  • Understanding of Aboriginal health, cancer pathways and community needs
  • Strong communication, coordination and partnership-building skills
  • Experience delivering health programs, community education or outreach
