Business Support Officer

  • Base/Location:Njernda Medical Centre, 84 Hare Street Echuca

  • Hours:Full Time 37.5 hours per week

  • Position Scope:

    To provide business, finance and quality improvement support to promote the delivery of Health and Ageing programs.  The role will also encompass Communicare Administrative support.

 Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Technical Capabilities
  • General office support to the team / service area, where required
  • Order office supplies and staff amenities
  • Undertake continued professional development
  • Attend management and staff meetings, take minutes and provide correspondence from previous meetings, where applicable
  • Perform and complete any reasonable duties relevant to the position as requested by the Manager / Executive Director of Health and Ageing
  • Be responsible for the on-going administration and support of Health and Ageing reporting systems

  1. Administrative Capabilities
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Participate in service training programs as organised by Njernda and / or any other training to upgrade skills
  • Ensure that all statistical data / record-keeping and other documentation are completed and forwarded on time
  • Follow correct policy and procedure directions at all times
  • Provide technical and organisational support to all of Health and Ageing funding contracts that include but not limited to:
    1. MCCC
    2. RVTS
    3. Allied Health invoicing/agreements
    4. Communicare Administrative support for all Health and Ageing staff
    5. ITC administrative support (including financial requirements)
    6. Other invoicing where required

Key Selection Criteria

 

  • An Understanding of and commitment to the Aboriginal Community

Experience in:

  • Excellent administration and multi-tasking skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to prioritise workload and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Well-developed computer skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Word, excel and Power Point
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
  • The ability to work in a team environment
  • The demonstrated use, administration, and support of an electronic patient information management within a windows environment
  • Demonstrated skills in preparation of reports, policies, procedures, and manuals
  • A demonstrated understanding of finance management and bookkeeping processes

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

Desirable but not mandatory

Relevant tertiary experience or qualifications in leadership or the ability to undertake training.

 

Mandatory Requirements

  • Current criminal record screening.
  • Current Working with Children Check.
