Key Responsibilities
- Ensure CHSP services are provided to Aboriginal clients in compliance with the standards outlined in the CHSP guidelines.
- Develop knowledge and understanding of CHSP services to enable more appropriate service delivery and correct referral pathways.
- Provide support to Aboriginal community members and their carers who are receiving assistance through the CHSP program.
- Enter data daily for reporting requirements.
- Attend specific training and general staff meetings.
- Function as a team member in close liaison with other staff.
- Act always in a professional manner and ensure the confidentiality of client information.
- Other duties as directed within the scope of the employee’s skill level and training.
- To attend required training weekly
- Comply with OH&S and other relevant legislation
Training & Assessment
- Enrolment in Cert III Individual Support (Ageing, Home and Community) 2022
- Be open to learn new things and enjoy the learning journey
- Accept lawful instruction given by you regarding work, training, and instruction in the workplace
- Attend/participate in the formal training process, face to face sessions or online activities
- Complete tasks, assessments, assignments, etc. that are set by the RTO
- Notify employer or RTO if:
- you will be late or absent from work or training
- of any change to personal details such as address, name, etc.
Key selection criteria
- Driver’s license is essential.
- A proven knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal people and aboriginal culture is essential.
- An ability to communicate effectively with Aboriginal people and handle issues in a sensitive manner.
- A knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal health issues.
- A good understanding of issues effecting aboriginal people in the community and knowledge of the services available to the community within the region.
- Sound negotiation skills and well-developed communication skills.
- The ability to maintain records and manage time effectively and efficiently.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a multi-skilled team.
- Basic computer skills.
Administration and Documentation
- Ensure the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, procedures and work practices the support the efficient operations of the organisation.
- Ensure that all documentation is accurate and completed in a timely manner.
- Input data using relevant data bases daily.
Communications and organisation Culture:
- Act in a professional manner always when dealing with internal and external clients
- Positively promote the organisation both internally and externally
- Be prompt to provide courteous service to clients, colleagues, and the broader community
- Maintain confidentiality and all issues relating to the organisation, the clients, and fellow colleagues

Other relevant information
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo satisfactory pre-employment checks, including providing at least two professional referees, completion of a medical declaration, Police Records Check, Working With Children Check, Victorian Driver’s License, and proof of identify and qualifications
