Support Elders and community through care and maintenance.


Use your skills in gardening, maintenance and repair to support Elders and maintain Njernda facilities.


Join Njernda’s Health and Ageing team to provide garden, home, and facility maintenance that supports Elders and community members to live safely and comfortably. 


This role combines caring for clients through the Aged Care and HACC PYP programs with maintaining Njernda facilities and supporting community events.


Please note, this is an Identified Role, for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants only. 

About the role

In this role, you will:


  • Provide lawn, garden, and home maintenance for Aged Care and HACC PYP clients
  • Support safe, high-quality services in line with Aged Care Standards and Njernda values
  • Carry out routine and preventative maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of Njernda facilities
  • Assist with vehicle, equipment, and event setup and maintenance
  • Report and record client needs, feedback, and incidents promptly and accurately

About you

  • Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity is essential for this role
  • Driver’s licence and First Aid Certificate
  • Physically fit, with the ability to perform manual maintenance tasks safely
  • Skills in communication, teamwork, and using garden/maintenance equipment
  • Understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal culture and community care
