Our Purpose

At the heart of Njernda’s purpose is self-determination - the right of our people to shape our own futures. We exist to create safe, strong and healthy Aboriginal communities where culture is celebrated, and where everyone has access to the support they need to thrive.

We work holistically, recognising that physical health, emotional wellbeing, cultural identity and connection to Country are all essential to healing and strength. Through trauma-informed practice and community-led design, we strive to ensure our programs reflect the voices, values and needs of our people.

We support our Mob across all life stages—from pregnancy and parenting, to youth programs, family healing, Elders support and more. Every step of the way, our work is grounded in culture, compassion and community.
