Njernda Aboriginal Corporation is seeking an experienced and capable Family Services Coordinator to support the leadership and day-to-day operational management of our Family Services Division.
This is a senior practice and coordination role overseeing a diverse portfolio of programs including Aboriginal Family Preservation and Unification Response (AFPR), Integrated and Intensive Family Services, Intake & Assessment, Emergency Relief, and Unborn – Rapid Engagement.
Working closely with the Family Services Manager, you will provide operational oversight, staff supervision and expert practice guidance to a multidisciplinary team. You will ensure services are culturally safe, trauma-informed, compliant with legislative requirements, and delivering strong outcomes for Aboriginal children, families and community.
This role suits a confident leader who can balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational coordination — someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to strengthening Aboriginal families.

About the role
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate day-to-day operations across multiple family service programs
- Provide professional supervision and support to staff and trainees
- Strengthen culturally safe, trauma-informed practice across the division
- Monitor workflows, budgets and service targets to ensure compliance and quality
- Support recruitment, induction, training and performance development
- Facilitate partnerships with ACCOs, mainstream services and government agencies
- Contribute to policy development, reporting, funding submissions and program evaluation
- Step into leadership roles during periods of leave to ensure continuity of service
About you
We are seeking a strong and experienced practitioner with:
- A Bachelor’s degree or Post Graduate Qualification in Social Work or Community Services
- Significant experience in child and family services, including intensive support programs
- Demonstrated leadership and staff supervision capability
- Strong understanding of the Child Youth and Families Act and child protection processes
- Deep knowledge of Aboriginal culture and community needs
- Proven ability to manage complex service environments, budgets and reporting requirements
