Make a meaningful difference in the lives of Aboriginal children and young people in statutory kinship care through safe, connected, and culturally strong family environments.

This role provides culturally safe case management, family engagement, and placement support to ensure children’s safety, stability, and cultural identity are upheld. 

About the role

In this role, you will:

• Deliver case management and support for Aboriginal children in kinship care placements
• Develop and implement care, cultural, and safety plans in partnership with families and DFFH
• Support kinship carers with assessments, training, and practical assistance
• Facilitate family engagement, reunification planning, and cultural connection activities
• Prepare reports, assessments, and referrals to ensure quality and compliance

About you

• Qualified in Social Work or Community Services (or equivalent)
• Strong case management and assessment skills with trauma-informed practice knowledge
• Understanding of Aboriginal culture, kinship systems, and the impact of intergenerational trauma
• Experience in out-of-home care, child protection, or family services
• Excellent communication, cultural safety, and teamwork skills
