Njernda Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a dedicated and culturally strong Aboriginal HUB Practitioner to provide culturally safe, trauma‑informed support to Aboriginal children, women, men, and families experiencing family violence or child wellbeing concerns.
This role works across The Orange Door and Njernda Families, Healing & Support Services, supporting early intervention, advocacy, and culturally appropriate responses while ensuring Aboriginal voices, culture, and self‑determination are central to all decision‑making.

About the role
As our Aboriginal HUB Practitioner, you will work within The Orange Door while remaining embedded in Njernda Aboriginal Corporation to deliver culturally safe, Aboriginal‑led responses to family violence and child wellbeing concerns.
This role blends frontline casework, advocacy, and cultural leadership, making it ideal for candidates with experience in:
- Family violence and child wellbeing practice
- Trauma‑informed, culturally safe service delivery
- Risk assessment and safety planning
- Working across Aboriginal community‑controlled and mainstream service settings
You will manage complex and sensitive cases while ensuring culture remains central to safety, healing, and long‑term outcomes for Aboriginal families.
About you
- Qualification in Social Work, Community Services, or a related discipline, or willingness to undertake required study
- Experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and communities
- Valid and current Victorian Working with Children Check and National Police Check
- Experience in family violence risk assessment and safety planning (MARAM or similar)
- Ability to work autonomously while managing complex and sensitive caseloads
