Make a positive impact on the lives of Aboriginal families and communities by strengthening resilience, healing, and wellbeing.
Connect those most in need with culturally safe, holistic services that promote healing and strengthen family and community connections.
You’ll deliver non-clinical support, build partnerships between Aboriginal Health Services and mainstream providers, and help develop initiatives such as men’s groups, youth activities, and carers’ groups.
This role strengthens access to mental health, primary health, and community supports while promoting healing, resilience, and cultural connection.
We are looking for someone with a Certificate IV (or above) in Mental Health, Community Services, AOD, or related field, with a strong understanding of Aboriginal culture and wellbeing needs. Experience supporting families with complex needs, along with excellent communication and partnership-building skills, will be highly valued.
Please note, this is an identified Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander position.
About the role
In this role, you will:
- Provide non-clinical support to individuals and families impacted by mental health challenges
- Improve coordination between Aboriginal Health Services and mainstream providers
- Facilitate health promotion and recovery-focused programs such as men’s groups, youth activities, and carers’ groups
- Deliver Mental Health First Aid training and support mental health literacy in community
- Develop partnerships, referrals, and programs to reduce service gaps and prevent crises
About you
- Certificate IV (or above) in Mental Health, Community Services, AOD, or related field
- Understanding of Aboriginal culture, wellbeing needs, and family networks
- Experience supporting Aboriginal families and individuals with complex needs
- Strong communication and partnership-building skills
- Ability to deliver culturally safe, trauma-informed, and strengths-based support
