Lead programs that support the wellbeing, safety and cultural strength of Aboriginal young people
Njernda Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a Youth and Wellbeing Coordinator to support the delivery of culturally safe, trauma-aware wellbeing services for Aboriginal young people and families.
Under the guidance of the Youth and Wellbeing Manager, this role coordinates the daily operations of multiple youth and wellbeing programs—including SEWB, Bringing Them Home, Men’s and Women’s Groups, Community Engagement Programs and School Assistance.
The role provides leadership, guidance and coordination across program activities, staff, work plans and community engagement, ensuring services are delivered in line with legislation, cultural protocols, quality standards, and community needs.
The Coordinator also works closely with families, Elders, schools, justice and health services to create strong pathways for young people.

About the role
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate day-to-day operations of Njernda’s youth and wellbeing programs, ensuring services are culturally safe, timely and high quality
- Support and guide staff to deliver wellbeing activities, case coordination, advocacy and community engagement
- Maintain accurate program data, reporting, case notes, and compliance with funding, safety and legislative requirements
- Develop program plans, quality improvement approaches, partnerships and community-led initiatives
- Build strong connections with young people, families, Elders, schools, health providers and community organisations
About you
- Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity is essential
- Degree in Social Work, Community Services, Youth Work or related field (or working toward)
- Strong knowledge of youth wellbeing, child and family services, case management and Aboriginal community needs
- Understanding of SEWB frameworks, the child and family sector, and trauma-informed practice
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and conflict resolution skills
Experience in staff coordination, program delivery and managing complex caseloads
