Receptionist Corporate Services

  • Position Scope:

    The Receptionist is responsible for maintaining a professional reception to Njernda Corporate Services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate the reception area
  • Be courteous and have a respectful telephone and reception manner
  • Receive calls and make independent decisions on appropriate action
  • Preparing, organising, and storing information in paper and digital form
  • Working with senior staff to gather and collate information used to ensure we reach our targeted areas within compliance and risk management framework
  • Maintain good presentation of common areas
  • Manage return of IT equipment and assist set up of security fob and keys
  • Collecting and disseminating the mail and recording in an electronic log
  • Recording training and catering arrangements including tax invoice details of room hire and food costs
  • Run errands as requested
  • Ordering supplies for the Office and catering as required
  • Checking on supplies to ensure adequate quantity
  • Preparing correspondence as required
  • Other duties as directed.

 

Key Selection Criteria

Applicants must possess:

  • A proven knowledge and understanding of aboriginal people and aboriginal culture is essential.
  • An ability to communicate effectively with aboriginal people and handle issues in a sensitive manner.
  • Must be able to:
  • Be punctual and able to operate a busy reception area.
  • Be courteous and have a respectful telephone and receptionist manner.
  • Receive calls and make independent decisions on appropriate action
  • Manage client and community enquiries.
  • Good negotiation skills and well developed communication skills.
  • An ability to manage time effectively and efficiently.
  • A demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and effectively as part of a team.
  • Well-developed computer skills including the ability to operate specialist programs.

  • The successful applicant will be required to undergo satisfactory pre-employment checks, including providing at least two professional referees, completion of a medical declaration, Police Records Check, Working With Children Check, Victorian Driver’s License, and proof of identify and qualifications
